The appearance of Orlen on the list is the most significant change in relation to previous years, and has taken place to the detriment of TPSA, which lost its three-year strong leading position. In 2004 Orlen's brand was worth almost zł.1.6 billion, zł.1 billion less than current estimates.

In turn TPSA's brand, which was worth zł.3.87 billion in 2004, has now decreased in value to just over zł.2.4 billion. The growth in value and strength of brands assessed in the ranking is not only due to the healthy economic situation and the patriotic purchasing habits of Poles, but also to the growing care domestic enterprises have for their brands. According to Philip Kotler, global guru of international marketing, Polish brands face an enormous opportunity due to hundreds of thousands of Poles working in Great Britain, Ireland or Germany.
