GDF to bid for Polish natural gas market
Gaz de France (GDF) wants to take part in the privatisation of gas distribution companies that will emerge from the PGNiG Polish state gas monopoly, GDF's international business director Michel Przydrozny said on Tuesday. Przydrozny said GDF would like to acquire 25%-30% of the Polish natural gas distribution market. Under the government's restructuring and privatisation programme, PNGiGis is to be divided into three independent parts, covering different operations (prospecting and drilling, distribution, and transportation and storage of gas). The treasury ministry has not set the date yet for a tender that will open the privatisation process.
