USA to impose penalty duty on Polish bar iron
The US International Trade Commission wants to impose penalty duty on Polish bar iron to curb alleged dumping practices. Lawyers representing steel importers have strongly rejected the claims of dumping practices, accusing US producers of restricting competition in a free market. According to the Polish Commercial Attaché's Office in New York, overall Polish exports of steel products to the US totalled some USD89mn in 2000.
