"We consider disposing of assets not related to the PGE group's basic operations within three years. This refers to Polkomtel, Exatel and Autostrada Wielkopolska. No decision has been made yet," said Tomasz Zadroga, president of PGE.

The most important declaration concerns shares in Polkomtel, operator of the Plus mobile phone company. On Wednesday British Vodafone informed that it arranged with TDC the purchase of shares in Polkomtel, which will also enable other Polish shareholders to purchase shares pushing up their stake to 75 percent.

"It would be most logical if all Polish shareholders sold Polkomtel's equity together. Than they can receive the best price," said Tomasz Zadroga. He went on to say that if the agreement with other shareholders is reached, the stake could be sold by next year. "If an opportunity of purchasing Polkomtel shares arises, and the price is relevant, we shall consider such an option," said Simon Gordon of Vodafone.
