Janusz Kaczmarek, former Interior Minister, is so far the most prominent suspect in the investigation to find the individual who leaked information regarding the Central Anti-corruption Bureau's (CBA) sting operation in July. The operation sought to root out corruption in the Agriculture Ministry. Due to the accusations, Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński dismissed Kaczmarek from his position on August 8.

"The Minister abused my trust," said Kaczyński. Kaczmarek was swiftly replaced by Władysław Stasiak, formerly the head of the National Security Office (BBN). Nonetheless, Kaczmarek denied the accusation, labeling it "a personal war" waged against him by the Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro. In an open letter he demanded Ziobro be dismissed as well, indicating he was among the suspects of the leak.

According to statements from Andrzej Lepper, the former Minister of Agriculture allegedly involved in the scandal, Ziobro revealed plans to carry out the operations during a conversation between the two men on June 14.

"Andrzej Lepper is a liar and a slanderer," replied Ziobro. The pair presented their claims face-to-face and each testified at the prosecutor's office, but the matter remains unresolved. Ziobro's recording of the conversation could provide strong evidence, as the Warsaw prosecutor's office has already confirmed the recording supports the validity of Ziobro's claims. However, it is still being checked for authenticity. According to Lepper, the prominent PiS politician Przemysław Gosiewski had also spoken of the plan.
