Privatisation of SSC halted
The Interior Minister halted the sale of the sugar company Slaska Spolka Cukrowa (SSC) to the French corporation Saint Louis Sucre (SLS). The Ministry's official said the decision had been taken because of errors in the purchase application forms submitted to the Ministry by SLS. The Ministry pointed out that SLS said it wanted to purchase the whole SSC, while the Polish company in fact consists of several separate plants for the purchase of which SLS should apply separately.
