The Chinese investor will provide a $5-10 million loan transferable to shares to the Polish firm, but it might also participate in raising equity providing up to $25-50 million. The objective is to possibly merge the two firms this year, but no further details have been provided so far.
"The Chinese firm is already extracting oil, around 15,000 barrels per day. We have rich and prospective deposits in Kazakhstan and this country was eyed by the Chinese. Apart from that we are listed on the bourse, while MI Energy's strategy envisages floatation within 12-18 months," said the CEO.
Analysts are rather optimistic about the planned concept of closer cooperation with the Chinese partner.
