The Cabinet's Economic Committee (KERM) is to make a decision regarding the number of sugar plants that will be included in the sugar holding Polski Cukier. The Treasury has proposed that it includes 28 plants that have not been privatised yet, but the farmers lobby has been pressing for the inclusion of another 21 plants. However, 16 of them are part of the holding Slaska Spolka Cukrowa (SSC), which was sold to the French concern Saint Louis Sucre last year, but this transaction has not been approved yet by the Interior Ministry. The remaining five plants have been promised to German investors, but these transactions have not gone through either. bb, kp
