This October will see the first-ever Polish Video Game Days - an international event at which Polish game development studios will promote their games on the global digital market, the Ministry of Culture said in a statement. GOG, a Polish digital games distribution platform, will be co-organising the event.
Polish Video Game Days will be the first event of its kind worldwide to promote the industry on such a scale with official support from the public administration, making Poland the first country where public institutions have taken on the task of promoting domestic games.
According to a 2025 report by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP), there are 824 game development studios operating in Poland, employing 14,568 specialists. Furthermore, 97 percent of the games developed in Poland are sold to overseas customers, and in 2024, the industry generated revenue of PLN 5.52 billion (EUR 1.3 bln).
GOG is a digital games distribution platform founded in 2008, enabling users to legally and securely purchase, download and play classic titles, as well as the latest blockbusters and indie games.
At the end of 2025, listed video games developer and publisher CD Projekt entered into an agreement with Michal Kicinski, the company's co-founder and one of its major shareholders, for the sale of shares in GOG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CD Projekt. Kicinski acquired 100 percent of the shares in GOG for PLN 90.69 million.
