Gas prices were last raised by 9.9% in January 2007. The results of the firm are being negatively affected by the lack of changes in domestic tariffs as international prices grow. "We have daily revenues of over zł.41 million on sales of natural gas. On average we lose zł.4 million every day on these operations," said PGNiG's spokeswoman Joanna Zakrzewska. Earlier the company announced that due to the lack of price increase the firm might incur a loss of zł.300 million in Q1. According to the information in daily Parkiet, both URE and PGNiG are not very flexible in their plans and now the regulator has proposed price increases of up to 20%, while the company went down to about 25%. "For PGNiG it is more beneficial to win every percentage of increase even at cost of a two week delay in introducing the changes rather than accepting the proposed rates," said Marcin Palenik, an analyst with DM Millennium.
