"There might be around ten interested companies," said Sławomir Dudek, management-board member and commercial director of CB.
The firm is profitable, carries out investments, has a very strong position in the local market and runs a network of 54 pharmacies.
Participation in the tender was announced by domestic Polish Pharmaceutical Group (PGF) Farmacol, as well as Prosper. Other potential bidders include ACP Pharma, Phoeniks and Tamro, operating in the both the Scandinavian and Baltic markets.
The biggest surprise might be the participation of the other state-owned Cefarm - Warsaw's Centrala Farmaceutyczna (CF).
"We plan to submit an offer as the situation of the company has substantially improved this year. After seven months we had over zł.7 million in earnings and we anticipate approximately zł.10 million by the end of the year," said Marek Zaczek, president of CF.
