"It might seem strange, but such an optimistic forecast is not the result of the computer market's condition," ComputerLand's spokesperson, Michał Michalski, says. "Our profits are an effect of the condition of the financial sector, as well as that of telecommunications, utilities and public procurements, since we have been deeply involved in services within them. Moreover, we have bought several products from other companies and thanks to that we increased our possibilities."

It's important to note that the company's management, while forecasting financial results, took account of a series of contracts closed in the last three months of 2005. Their combined value reaches zł.250 million while the current value of company's backlog of orders is estimated at zł.400 million.

Michalski also revealed some future plans: "We are going to continue to consolidate the market by buying up firms and solutions and thus, becoming more effective. We are also expanding east, especially to Ukraine and Russia where we have already been buying out [local IT company] CSBI's shares."

The management board at Polish IT giant ComputerLand predicts the company's revenue will reach zł.800 million this year, while net profits will reach zł.20 million. If the forecast is fulfilled, the revenues would be the group's best in its 14-year history, while profits would outpace 2004's results by 60 percent.
