"This will be the largest foreign investment of the year, and will amount to EUR400 million," said Wojciech Sobieraj, president of the new bank and former deputy president of Bank BPH. Rumors of Sobieraj planning to establish a new bank and that he was looking for a partner recently filled the market, and according to BRE Bank president Sławomir Lachowski, Sobieraj's experience ensures that this venture with Carlo Tassara will be a serious project. The new bank will be launched in H2 with a network of outlets, the number of which has not yet been revealed. "We are aiming for a top ten position in the sector so we must be present in the majority of large cities," said Wojciech Sobieraj. The as yet unnamed bank, which will initially employ 1,000 people, will focus on individuals and small and medium enterprises. The president says that the institution is backed by a mighty investor and has capital ensuring financing for a few or over a dozen years. (Puls Biznesu, pp. 1, 10) M.M.
