MinFin lowers its GDP growth forecast to 3.8%
The Finance Ministry revised down its GDP growth forecast to 3.8% from 4%, Minister Jaroslaw Bauc announced in a radio interview. Bauc's forecast mirrors that of Economy Ministr Janusz Steinhoff, who earlier this week said that GDP would grow by 3.7%-4%. Although both forecasts were much worse than the official target of 4.5% set in this year's budget law, they were still better than IMF's estimate of 3% announced on Wednesday. The Finance Ministry expects GDP to grow by 2% in Q1 and 2.7% in Q2. After that, growth is expected to speed up to around 5% in Q3 and Q4. bb, kp
