Dziennik found out that confidential personal data of the victims were delivered to the company by none other than the police, with whom the Swiss company cooperates to fight pedophiles. Similar activities have been outlawed in Switzerland, Italy and France.
"I will not pay, I did not download any games. If the necessity arises I will spend a huge amount of money on lawyers to prove my innocence. I am convinced that Obig is trying to intimidate people," said a person quoted by Dziennik.
"For 12 months we have been cooperating with Logistep. Their software enables those sharing child pornography on the web to be tracked. A few have already been arrested, while the other ones will be arrested soon," said Zbigniew Urbański of the police press office.
Policemen using the software claim that it only enables to track those who use software and music files owned by the clients of Logistep. "The whole mechanism of operations of these companies is suspicious," said former national prosecutor Kazimierz Olejnik.
