According to Pawel Gricuk, Petrolinvest CEO, the example of Russian oil services firms suggests such a company would be liked by City investors. According to Gricuk, the market capitalization of a similar Russian firm listed on the LSE is around $2 billion, (zł.4.6 billion). By comparison, Petrolinvest's market capitalization in Warsaw is zł.1.8 billion. The two oil services firms owned by Petrolinvest are Kazakhstancasiapnshelf JSC and Caspain Services Inc. They specialize in seismic, geological and geochemical research on for on-shore and offshore oil deposits and their customers include KazMunai Gaz, Shell, AHIP, or TengizChevroOil, among others. According to Gricuk, the new company will compete for oil-drilling business from the likes of KazMunai Gaz and Lukoil, as well as servicing Petrolinvest itself. (Puls Biznesu, p. 12) R.M.
