JandS Energy fined zł.462 million by ARM

The Chairman of the Material Reserves Agency (ARM) has imposed a zł.462 million fine on J&S Energy for not fulfilling obligations stemming from the act on fuel reserves. "The final deadline passed on 15 October," said Piotr Kruk of ARM, adding that as it has not recieved the necessary documents the agency's chairman's hand was forced. J&S Energy claims that it has been up to date with its obligations, but failed to receive the relevant documents from the pipeline managing authority PERN Przyjaźń. "We are able to prove that PERN did not react to our reminders concerning the issue of relevant documentation," said Grzegorz Zambrzycki, president of J&S Energy. PERN has so far not commented on the issue, while J&S Energy is sure that the only reason the public were informed of this issue is because of the ongoing election campaign. The firm will appeal the decision in any way it can, as the fine is almost 20 times higher than its 2006 earnings. (Puls Biznesu, pp. 1, 11) M.M.
