Government lifts fuel import tariffs
The government lifted the import tariffs on fuels yesterday. This move is meant to check the fuel price growth, which has been considered one of the main causes for higher inflation. On Sep 12, the government suspended import tariffs on fuels from the countries that Poland has free-trade agreements with, while yesterday, this measure was extended to all countries. The government also decided to monitor fuel prices very closely and examine on a weekly basis how the lower tariffs affect them.
