"We have chosen Poland because of its geographic location, market size and conditions created for foreign investors," Gillette's value chain director for Central Europe East, John J. Jensen said. He added that the center in Dšbrowa Górnicza is a new development in Gillette's strategy of strengthening its presence in Poland. "We are also building a modern manufacturing, packaging and warehouse facility in ŁódŸ, a R120 [zł.500] million investment," Jensen said. Gillette and DHL have been cooperating since 1999. So far this cooperation has covered goods storage and the supply of Gillette products to clients in Poland and to distributors in the far and near east and the former Yugoslavia. The new three-year agreement will expand the range of co-operation between the two companies. Apart from goods storage, DHL will offer services such as stickering, goods confectioning, welding and packaging. Michał Pakulniewicz

The distribution center will be one of Gillette's biggest centers of its kind in Europe and will supply products to customers across the CEE region as well as to distributors in Africa and Asia. DHL invested about EUR 2.5 (zł.10.43) million in the center, in which over 200 people will be employed.
