"We are pleased that the voting ended this way. Within the past few days we held a number of discussions with shareholders who did not agree to the parity. In my opinion, the valuation was honest and it is good that the common sense of investors was victorious," said Jerzy Mazgaj, head of V&W's supervisory board.
V&W's problem now relates to repaying a zł.250 million loan to Fortis Bank, which has to be settled by the end of March 2009.
