The best result came from Pekao, which achieved 17.8 percent, while the worst performing fund, Bankowy, achieved only a 7.9 percent return. OFE might not reach their minimal rate of return, which means the fund would have to pay clients from their own pocket.

The minimal rate rule was to decrease clients' risk but is increasing it as,  "Currently the ideal situation is for fund portfolios to have similar content and to contain as little liquid instruments as possible. Then the risk of subsidizing clients is smaller but from an investment point of view the risk is largest," said Michał Szymański, deputy president at CU PTE.

However, abolishing the rule is not on the near horizon.
