No decisions on gas pipeline yet

The supervisory board meeting in EuRoPol Gaz, the company supervising the pipeline for natural gas shipments from Russia to Western Europe, did not take place yesterday as scheduled. It had been expected that the board would make decisions concerning the company's business plans and the issue of payments for gas transits. Poland's previous government of PM Jerzy Buzek had been pointing out that transit fees for gas sold to Germany were too low. In addition, on Feb 15, EuRoPol Gaz's main shareholders, the Russian company Gazprom and Poland's gas distribution firm PGNiG were supposed to reach agreement concerning Russian gas supplies to Poland. PGNiG and Gazprom have a 48% stake in EuRoPol Gaz each, while Gas-Trading, a company connected capital-wise with Bartimpex of Aleksander Gudzowaty has a 4% stake. ISB,kp,bb
