Elektrim lacks EUR 212mn to conclude bond buyback
The Polish power and telecom conglomerate company Elektrim said it was short of EUR 212mn to conclude a buyback of its EUR 488mn worth of convertible bonds maturing on Monday. The company said it would try to reschedule the payments. It also said that in order to get money, it considered selling some of its telecommunications assets including its 51% stake in Elektrim Telekomunikacja, owning 49% in PTC, largest mobile telecom operator. The company also wants to sell its cable unit Elektrim Kable to its peer KFK for some EUR 100mn. Elektrim's shares, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, have lost a half of their value since the beginning of December. The company's total liabilities currently amount to EUR 753.2mn. kp,bb
