The project, dubbed Samsung Care, addresses businesspeople from the entire country. Those registering and willing to buy Samsung products will enjoy free hardware insurance against theft from Generali and software support from Symantec. They will also benefit from installation and additional training free of charge.
"This will be a small substitute for an IT specialist, which these companies are too small to afford," says sales and marketing director of Samsung Electronics, Marcin Bołbot. According to Wojciech Trybuszkiewicz, director at Generali Polska: "The SME sector appears to be less attractive than the corporate, but it accounts for a large part of the GDP."
Although not the first on the market (mobile operators developed offers for small businesses years ago), Samsung Care is supposedly the first to present such a complete service-hardware, software and insurance combined. Its founders are looking for partners from other sectors to enhance it, primarily within the telecommunication services. However, Bołbot confesses: "It is hard to reach an agreement with telecom companies."
Reduced prices and special offers could attract owners of companies existing only on paper. From the 3.3 million registered micro-companies (who have up to nine employees) only half are in fact operating. Samsung says that applicants for the Care program will be carefully screened to avoid such practices.
