Yesterday Pentagon spokesperson Geoff Morel used the most critical words that Poland has ever heard from the administration. "I think everyone agrees that these announcements are not helping," said Morel in relation to an announcement made by Prime Minster Donald Tusk who said that "Poland is definitely in no hurry when it comes to the anti-missile shield." Morel added that "We played a key role getting [Poland] accepted into NATO. We gave [Poland] arms worth USD750 million, the most out of all European countries. Having such exceptional relations we believe that all obstacles will be put aside." He also made it clear that Tuesday's talks between Defense Minster Bogdan Klich and US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates did not go well. (Dziennik, p. 3; Gazeta Wybrocza, p. 4) A.K.
