"According to our estimates, Orlen's share in the market increased by around 2%," said Polish Organization of Oil Industry and Trade (POPiHN) director of fuel market analysis Krzysztof Romanek. Given that 1% of the Polish fuel market is worth around zł.500 million, Orlen increased its revenues by some zł.1 billion. In Q2 2007 the company's revenues from retail sales increased by zł.404.8 million, or 10.6%, compared to the same period last year. Orlen's cost reduction programme resulted in zł.37 million in savings in Q2 2007, while its operational profit from retail sales increased by 144% in the same period. It seems that Orlen will easily fulfill its two year old objective to have a market share of at least 30% by 2009.
