"My estimate is perhaps by 1 to 1.5 percent of GDP. So, instead of 5.5 percent growth next year we will see 4.0 percent," said Gomułka.
Leszek Balcerowicz believes that the extent of the economic slowdown can be alleviated if the government keeps its promises and reforms the economy. Public opinion remains in stark contrast - according to a poll by ABR Opinia, as many as 69 percent think that bankruptcy of at least one Polish bank is highly possible.
