The winner of a tender to manage deliveries of natural gas to Poland from October 1 will soon be revealed, as the previous contract for the supply of 400 million cubic meters ends on September 30. The current deal was signed by Polish Oil and Gas (PGNiG) with German Verbundnetz Gas (VNG) and E.ON Ruhrgas in 2004.

It is likely that the winner will be chosen on Wednesday and later
recommended to the supervisory board.

"If deliveries are to commence on October 1, then the gas supplier would have to reserve transit infrastructure from the German side 10 days before the deadline," said an expert from the sector. The informer revealed that the favorite is again VNG, which has already reserved its transit system.

E.ON is also hopeful of regaining a contract. A few weeks ago it was informed that there were no chances for such outcome, but until a formal decision is announced anything is still possible. Source: Puls Biznesu
