Sejm commissions to work on unfair competition regulations
The Sejm sent to commissions the draft amendment to the law on unfair competition, which would significantly limit development of supermarkets in Poland. The law is meant to strengthen smaller retailers through, among others, forbidding supermarkets from using dumping prices and from running lotteries with valuable prizes in order to increase sales. The proposal has been broadly accepted by the coalition parties and also by the opposition League of Polish Families (LPR). The liberal PO, however, claim the regulations would infringe the constitutional principle of equality before the law. kp,bb
