The firm has been working on the new technology for over two years and now it has successfully concluded tests with two mobile phone operators as well as obtained necessary security certificates. According to MobiTrust the firm faces no competition in Poland, and moreover, such services are only available in a few countries, such as Finland, Estonia and Turkey. Mobile digital signature, as opposed to 'traditional' electronic signature does not require a user to have a special reader and micro-chip. "All of these functions are catered for by a SIM card. Thanks to this, the technology is much cheaper and more easily accessible," said Mariusz Skiba, president of MobiTrust. He added that the firm is negotiating with all domestic mobile phone operators to provide special SIM cards to their clients who will not have to bear additional costs as these will be borne by banks, e-stores and administration.
