Citibank increases its stake in Bank Handlowy to 66%
Citibank Overseas Investment Corporation has acquired 39,155,549 shares in Bank Handlowy, giving it 66% of the voting rights in the Polish bank. The purchase followed a public call last month. Citibank said it did not plan to withdraw Handlowy's shares from public trading. However, it plans to merge Handlowy with Citibank Poland and will seek to acquire up to 75% of the voting rights in Handlowy.
