The latter described URE's position as "shocking", arguing that the 5 percent cap would render both power generation and distribution unprofitable, forcing companies to forgo key investments and, eventually, face bankruptcy. "URE's proposed price would not cover even our power generation costs; only brown coal-based power would remain profitable," said Tomasz Zadroga, chairman of PGE, Poland's biggest power generator.
