He added that this would allow the government to overturn the Presidential veto of several flagship projects put forward by the Civic Platform (PO). In November alone, the President vetoed eight bills and plans to veto another three this Monday. For the SLD such a proposition could mean leaving the ranks of the opposition and the head of the party's parliamentary club, Wojciech Olejniczak, said that such a coalition is possible.
However, an open coalition with the SLD was ruled out by Prime Minister Donald Tusk who fears the political fallout from such a move.
