"Prices of companies have recently substantially decreased and slowly correspond to their value. [...] We shall try to carry out a few transactions already in H1. We shall designate as much as a few hundred million euro for investments in 2009," said Jozef Janov, managing partner of Penta Investment to Poland.

He hopes that the current trend of falling valuation of companies will continue and that the foundations of companies will begin to be important again. "We shall act selectively and choose companies from the sectors most resilient to the deteriorating economic situation. We positively assess food, retail trade and health sectors. Certainly we are not interested in companies from the automotive or luxury products sectors. We do not think that investments in real estate will be profitable in the coming years," said Janov.
