Treasury debt up by 1.2% in 2000
In 2000 the state treasury's debt grew by 1.2% from PLN 264.37bn (USD 61.4bn) at the end of 1999, to PLN 267.65bn (USD 65.2bn) at the end of 2000, the Finance Ministry announced. According to preliminary estimates treasury's debt in relation to GDP fell from 42.9% at the end of 1999 to 38.8% at the end of 2000. Domestic debt rose by 9% to 146.81bn (USD 9.17bn), while foreign debt dropped by 6.8% to PLN 120.8bn (USD 30.2bn). Domestic debt made for 54.9% of the total debt. kp
