Sejm postpones the decision on the sugar industry
The Sejm decided to postpone a discussion on bills concerning the Polish sugar industry for two weeks. The delay followed a request of the prime minister, who said the government needed time to prepare its position on the issue. The government still has to decide which sugar companies are to be included in the holding company Polski Cukier (Polish Sugar). The issue is controversial as sugar beet plantators demand that all sugar companies are grouped together, while others believe plants should be privatised separately. bb, kp
