G-8 to start telecom operations
The group of energy distributors G-8 wants to set up a telecommunication operations under the name Tele-8, which will use the group's 1,500km fibre-optic network. According to the daily newspaper Puls Biznesu, that plan will not be implemented until the group's ongoing privatisation process goes on, but recently, privatisation of the company stalled due to failed negotiations with the Spanish corporation Iberdrola on the so-called social package with the company's trade unions. The company estimates that the total cost of the project might amount to PLN 100mn, and said half of the planned network had already been built. kp,bb
