France's Vedrine supports Poland's plan to accelerate the EU talks
France's Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine approved of the ambitious Polish plans of negotiations with the EU, providing for intense talks on 11 chapters and the opening of serious talks in the three most important areas still in this half-year. Vedrine also said that France would not demand transition periods for free flow of labour after Poland joins the European Union, but would have to take into account position of other EU members. Germany, which is afraid of an inflow of Polish labourers, has demanded a seven-year transition period, but it possible that eventually that period would be shorter. bb, kp
