Inglot's new face
Inglot claims that now the company is wanted all over the world: "We are a hot cake everywhere." Why Canada and not somewhere nearer? "It was actually the local partners who found us," says Inglot. He admits that the next step would naturally be to enter the US market, but will not reveal any details. A final decision will be made in three weeks' time.
Now that it's concentrating on overseas expansion, the company is delaying growth plans for Europe. "We will have to wait with Western Europe for some time," says Inglot. However, he did reveal that the company would enter one of the most "open" European countries this year. "We do not want to start from the countries nearest to Poland," he said.
With its growing prestige abroad, Inglot also plans to climb up to a higher sale segment in Poland: "We are leaving smaller shops which are not able to fully expose our cosmetics." At the moment Inglot has about 120 shops in Poland, both own and franchised.

Wojciech Inglot, owner of Polish cosmetics maker Inglot, is now busy traveling to and fro between Poland and Canada, as he prepares to launch a second Inglot store in Montreal on May 15. "Then will come Ottawa and Toronto. By the end of this year we will have 10 stores in the country," says Inglot. The company's shops will be located in major shopping malls in big cities. The firm does not spend anything on advertising there, and competes in the local market with its attractive designs and prices, which are often some 20 percent lower than those of its competitors.
