After several months of preparations, last Sunday at Poznań Airport, the RT LAMP rapid passenger testing method was used for the first time in the world, using the CBDNA LAB SYSTEM solution developed by Centrum Badań DNA.
The genetic test performed with the RT LAMP method and the IT system developed by Centrum Badań DNA worked properly, without any complications. The system is necessary for the proper performance of the test procedure, which ends with sending the electronic test result to the passenger. Additionally, each passenger received a paper-based test result, both in Polish and in English. The entire operation was conducted without any complaints. All previously developed procedures worked perfectly. The time to complete the test, from filling in the appropriate form to receiving the result, was several minutes. After implementing the solution recommended by IATA, which will connect the airline reservation system with the CBDNA LAB SYSTEM, the time will be reduced by another few minutes. This is extremely important because the biggest problem in genetic testing around the world is the complicated and time-consuming "bureaucratic" procedure when issuing the result and all legal restrictions resulting from the GPDR. The tests were conducted among KLM passengers who travelled from Poznań Airport to Amsterdam. The operation was jointly planned and approved by Poznań Airport and the authorities of the Dutch carrier. It is worth noting that KLM is the world's oldest airline that is part of the AIR FRANCE-KLM holding, which belongs to the SkyTeam alliance. Among others, the alliance includes China Southern Airlines, the largest carrier in Asia, American Delta Air Lines, Italian Alitalia and Russian Aeroflot.
Since last week, every passenger travelling to the Netherlands needs to take a genetic test and receive a negative result. Two options are allowed. The first is RT PCR test executed up to 72 hours prior to departure along with a rapid antigen test performed up to 4 hours before departure. The second option is just one RT LAMP test executed at the airport up to 4 hours before boarding the plane. According to the representatives of the world's largest airlines and the specialists, who are responsible for the security, the regulations already applied by the Dutch government will soon apply in most countries. According to the IATA authorities, they are the most effective method to revive air traffic around the world.
