Overall Impression
This game is very well put together and in a good state for early access. The current gameplay loop of exploration, experimentation, crafting, and quest completing plays very well and is quite enjoyable.
Performance: 10/10
No performance issues to speak of, and the game runs very well.
Graphics: 10/10
The art style is excellent, giving the game a distinct look and feel that is quite enjoyable. A lot of attention to detail has been put into the UI and then artwork of the menus and it shines through.
UI / Interface: 10/10
The interface and UI are very polished and work nicely. The in-game tutorial gives a great overview of the systems and helps you get started strong.
Gameplay Loop: 9/10
The game focuses on discovering new ingredients, using those to create potions, and then using those potions to solve quests and generate funds to then discover new ingredients and start the cycle over once again. You'll find yourself buying new equipment, using potions to solve puzzles or quests, and exploring new regions as you slowly build out a collection of known potions in your arsenal.
The brewing of potions itself is a fun and engaging process. First you'll need to find the right ingredients: manipulating them with your tools and combining them together to make what you need. It's really satisfying when you figure out a solution to manipulate the elements with what you have on hand to craft the potion you need.
When it comes time to actually brew the potion, it launches another mini-game of symbol drawing. While it can feel a little buggy from time to time, you quickly learn how to draw the symbols needed to complete the challenges and an automated recipe system can help protect your most valuable ingredients from bad luck.
Bugs:9/10
This game seems to be in a very polished state for an EA title. My gameplay has been nearly bug free, save one bug that caused me to lose some progress - maybe 5 - 10 minutes tops - due to the game soft-locking in a menu. The experience has otherwise been very well polished and smooth.
TLDR: 10/10
This game is worth a look and is in an excellent state for the price tag. Expect to have several hours of potion-crafting, island-exploring, and dog-petting mayhem to look forward to with more on the way.
