Massimo Lapucci

As head of mergers and acquisitions for Ferrovie dello Stato, a holding company which includes the Italian railway system and has nearly 100,000 employees across Europe, Massimo Lapucci has been the chief negotiator on some of the most complex multinational transactions in the European Union. He advises the company’s chief financial officer on all matters concerning finance, administration, planning, and governance. Lapucci serves on the board of directors of four companies held by Ferrovie dello Stato. He is also a co-founder and board member of ADEAS, an association that promotes corporate social responsibility and ethics in business.
Post-Fellowship:
Lapucci was promoted to Senior Vice President for Strategic Planning, Research and Mergers & Acquisitions with Ferrovie dello Stato. In this position, Lapucci is responsible for analysis, forecasts, and transportation models to identify potential targets for development, as well as directly manage transactions and negotiations. In June 2007, Lapucci was appointed to the Board of Rete Ferroviaria Italiania, a subsidiary of Ferrovie Group which is responsible for the national rail infrastructure and terminals. He also serves on three Boards of Directors across the European Union including the joint-venture for the reconstruction and elaboration of “The national plan for transportation” in Iraq and the third largest private company in Germany for cargo transportation.
