PRAGUE (Reuters) -- Skoda said on Thursday that sales rose 12.3 percent in the first 11 months to 702,400 units compared with 684,200 in the whole of 2009.
In November alone, sales rose 15.8 percent to 64,200 units, driven by demand in Russia and China.
The Volkswagen AG Czech subsidiary's volume in Russia grew 43 percent to 3,498 units in November, pushing sales up 38 percent to 41,520 through 11 months, according to data from the Association of European Businesses (AEB).
Skoda is the Czech Republic's second-largest company by revenue. Its exports make up roughly 7 percent of the country's total exports. Cars and car parts are the biggest export and a key driver of economic growth.
