Even for mechanics Unholy seems to want to distinguish itself from the crowd: the protagonist comes, as already mentioned, very soon into the possession of her son's slingshot, with which she soon discovers that she is able to throw emotional bullets. Depending on the color used (there are four in total, at least for now), these bullets can not only solve puzzles, but change the mood of the person who is hit, which apparently indispensable to survive certain battles.
The gameplay unveiled to us did not show any real fights, and it limited itself to showing the activation of some panels using the bullets just described, as well as a fairly basic stealth phase. However, the concept of emotions transformed into weapons is very curious, and from what has been said it could allow not only to cancel the aggression of certain monsters, but also to turn them against their companions in the throes, terrorize them using fear, or go unnoticed, distracting them with desire. If that were not enough, the game also seems to have a system of equippable masking, which should allow both to camouflage itself and to use different powers. If what the developers have written in some of the development diaries is true, moreover, the use of these masks will also affect the story, with possible significant changes at the end if certain roles are abused too much.
