PM Buzek might be accepted as AWS head
All member parties of the ruling Solidarity Election Action (AWS) declared their support for Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek to become AWS leader. Buzek had said he was ready to take up the post provided he gets universal support within AWS, including backing from the current AWS head Marian Krzaklewski. It is believed that Buzek's leadership would solve the crisis in AWS at least temporarily, as the future structure of the bloc has not yet been agreed on. It is not clear if Krzaklewski agrees to step down. Also the Solidarity trade union has not commented on Buzek's proposal. The union's National Commission is to discuss the issue today.
