Nurses break talks with the government as there is no progress in negotiations

The Union of Nurses and Midwives (OZZPiP) decided to break ongoing talks with the government as it said there had been no progress of any kind due to the government's lack of goodwill. The head of the union Bozena Banachowicz said the nurses' protests would be continued. She added that there is money in the regional patient funds that could be used for wage increases for nurses, but that money had been wasted. OZZPiP called for the Supreme Auditing Board (NIK) to conduct an inspection in the funds. The union also decided that those nurses that participated in strikes will get financial compensation from the union's funds if necessary.
