Finance Ministry fights for lower yieldsThe Finance Ministry decided to defend lower yields at Monday's auction of T-bills and it did not sell all the 52-week notes to keep the price higher. Demand for T-bill exceeded two times the usual supply of PLN 600mn (USD 135mn). The ministry sold all PLN 100mn (USD 22.5mn) 13-week papers with the average yield of 16.324%, slightly lower than a week ago. However, it sold 52-week notes for only PLN 491mn (USD 110.8mn), throwing aside the worst offers. The average yield went up anyway to 17.971%.
