FRANKFURT (Reuters) -- German premium carmaker BMW said group unit sales rose 28 percent in January to 105,177 vehicles, and it expects strong growth to help it reach its 2011 target of selling more than 1.5 million units. "We expect growth rates to remain strong over the next few months, although the pace will slow a little in the second half of the year, due to baseline effects," management board member Ian Robertson said in a statement on Tuesday.
The BMW brand posted a rise in unit sales of 30 percent in January, while Mini brand unit sales rose by 15.8 percent.
